天的麥仔與莠子的比喻，告訴我們，天主的大能與寬容，允許莠子與麥子一同生長，直到收成時，才將麥子與莠子分開，麥子收入倉庫，莠子捆起來焚燒。所以，我們要時常反省自身，每件發生的事情上，我到底扮演甚麼樣的角色，是結果子的麥子，還是不結果子的莠子？趁天主還沒有到收成時，向天主承認自己的過犯，立刻悔改，學習耶穌的榜樣，每日睜開眼睛時，閱讀福音，裝備自己的心靈，把耶穌的話，作為武器，時時記住，當任何事情發生時，默想今天福音耶穌教導我們的是甚麼？從而我們能夠治療我們的軟弱，強化我們的信念，做結出果子的麥子，不要做無法結出果子的莠子。
福音（讓麥子和莠子一起長到收割的時候。）
瑪竇福音 13:24-30
耶穌給群眾設了一個比喻說：「天國好像一個人，在自己田裏撒了好種子；但在人睡覺的時候，他的仇人來，在麥子中間撒上莠子，就走了。苗長起來，抽出穗的時候，莠子也顯出來了。家主的僕人就前來對他說：主人！你不是在你田地裏撒了好種子嗎！那麼從那裏來了莠子？家主對他們說：這是仇人做的。僕人對他說：那麼，你願我們去把莠子收集起來嗎？他卻說：不，免得你們收集莠子時，連麥子也拔了出來。讓兩樣一起長到收割的時候好了；在收割時，我要對收割的人說：你們先收集莠子，把莠子捆起來，好投入爐中燃燒，再把麥子收入我的倉裏。」
讀經一（這是盟約的血，是上主同你們訂立的盟約。）

梅瑟下來將上主的一切話和誡命講述給百姓聽，眾百姓都同聲回答說：「凡上主所吩咐的話，我們全要奉行。」梅瑟遂將上主的一切話記錄下來。第二天清早，梅瑟在山下立了一座祭壇，又按以色列十二支派立了十二根石柱，又派了以色列子民的一些青年人去奉獻全燔祭，宰殺了牛犢作為獻給上主的和平祭。梅瑟取了一半血，盛在盆中，取了另一半血，灑在祭壇上。然後拿過約書來，念給百姓聽。以後百姓回答說：「凡上主所吩咐的話，我們必聽從奉行。」悔瑟遂拿血來灑在百姓身上說：「看，這是盟約的血，是上主本著這一切話同你們訂立的約。」
Jesus proposed a parable to the crowds.
"The Kingdom of heaven may be likened to(被比作) a man
who sowed good seed in his field.
While everyone was asleep his enemy came
and sowed weeds(雜草) all through the wheat(小麥), and then went off.
When the crop(作物) grew and bore(bear's pp) fruit, the weeds appeared as well.
The slaves of the householder came to him and said,
'Master, did you not sow good seed in your field?
Where have the weeds come from?'
He answered, 'An enemy has done this.'
His slaves said to him, 'Do you want us to go and pull them up?'
He replied, 'No, if you pull up the weeds
you might uproot(剷除) the wheat along with them.
Let them grow together until harvest(收成);
then at harvest time I will say to the harvesters,
"First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles for burning;
but gather the wheat into my barn."'"
and( related all the words and ordinances )of the LORD,
they all answered with one voice,
"We will do everything that the LORD has told us."
Moses then wrote down all the words of the LORD and,
rising early the next day,
he erected(豎起) at the foot of the mountain an altar
and twelve pillars for the twelve tribes(支派) of Israel.
Then, having sent certain young men of the children of Israel
to offer burnt offerings(供品) and sacrifice young bulls
